Nutrition And Diet

In the process of our assessments we also identify children with nutritional deficiency which is another factor which hinders our process of rehabilitation and recovery. ICLC has identified many children with severe malnutrition both in the community and at the Centre.  This is could be due inadequate food or because of poor feeding habits among children with disability especially cerebral palsy. Most children with cerebral palsy have a problem with their feeding. They either have poor appetite or have problems with ingestion and digestion.

ICLC therefore, has put forward strategies to address issues of malnutrition through feeding our clients on nutritious  foods such as silver fish, soya porridge, milk, vegetables and fruits among others, we train feeding,  sensitize parents/care takers on nutrition, especially, the timing , quantity and quality of food given to their children.
