economic empowerment project

Economic empowerment for parents to children with disabilities

ICLC is currently running an economic empowerment project under the sponsorship of the small scale grant of the Germany embassy

ICLC supports families of children with disabilities through empowerment of their mothers engaging them into income generating projects which can help them support their families. When these mothers are supported, they will uplift the family standards of living and will be able to advocate for the rights of their children and provide their basic needs such as food, inclusive education, and access to quality medical care, shelter among others ICLC has established 5 parent support groups each with 8 members one of which is a group leader who are held accountable for the activities that take place in that particular group.

Some of the activities being carried out include, tailoring, candle making, liquid soap making, crocheting to make different items among others.
The project plans to procure and give out 25 start-up kits to fully competent members after training to begin business ventures and generate incomes to support their families.
