Home Visits

As part of our work, our therapist will decide to do some home assessment, to see whether any equipment would help you achieve more independence; for example making adjustments in the height of your furniture, we believe people cope differently basing on different environment so we may need to train the use of appliances that one uses at home. Lots of demonstrations are done and parents/caregivers are given opportunities to practice the different therapeutic techniques learnt from the therapist.

School Sensetisation

Some of the schools in Uganda enroll children with special needs yet teachers have limited skills as regards teaching and handling these children, it is still and has been a big challenge over time. Therefore ICLC came up with the system of visiting schools to raise awareness about childhood disability and equipping them with skills on how to cope with them in the school environment

Rehabilitation Camp

ICLC uses community based camps as an approach take their services nearer to the community, this involves mobilizing people in the localized area for disability assessments, massive sensitization, hands on/spot therapy, training parents in therapeutic activities, advising on environment adjustments to suite the CWDs, making referrals, and partners in the rehabilitation journey. In this we conduct rehabilitation camps in different parts of the country. These have led to effective utilization of locally available resources, and promote more inclusive systems of health and rehabilitative care.
